The Appointment System Is Changing

From 29th April the way in which requests for appointments with Doctors, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associate is changing.  Instead of patients queuing or phoning the practice at 8.00 am patients will be asked, if they are able, to submit an e-consult via the NHS app or our website between 6.00 am and 5.00 pm.

This means every request for an appointment will be assessed by a clinician and we aim to get back to you by the end of the next working day with the next steps.  By doing this, requests for appointments will be allocated by clinical need instead of first come first served.  If a patient is unable to submit an e-consult, then they can still contact the surgery in the usual way and the receptionist will submit an e-consult on their behalf.  This means all appointment requests will be treated fairly and will get rid of the "lottery" system currently in place.

We respectfully ask that if you can submit an e-consult yourself then you do so. This means the receptionists are only making submissions for those patients who are not able to.  Receptionists will no longer be able to offer patients appointments without them being triaged by a clinician.  It is a new system for them as well as patients, so we thank you in advance for your patience.  Please note any form of verbal abuse will not be tolerated and could result in removal from our practice list.
